I Heart My Subcontractors

I hope that you all enjoyed the Interior Design Summit last week. Gail, Nika and I had a blast putting it all together. If you missed out last week, don't worry, we have already started planning the next one for early 2009! Thank you to all that attended. We have been getting some amazing testimonials and feedback.

This Fall has been a whirlwind and I have a feeling that 2008 will be over in a flash. In a couple of days, I am going to take some much-needed relaxation while I travel to Cabo San Lucas with my husband for our friends wedding. I plan to catch some rays, clear my mind and have a lot of fun! Ahhh...the sounds of the ocean, the sunsets, the cute little umbrellas that adorn each beverage. No phones, no email, no puppy (thank you Mom & Dad for taking the little one for a few days).

Well I am sure that you are all wondering about the title of my post today. I can truly say that I love the subcontractors that I work with. They are not only amazingly skilled professionals, but truly care about the client and a job well done. They treat each project as if it were their own and that ownership brings a responsibility and quality of craftsmanship that is out of this world. They also are very good at communicating, not only with each other, but with the client as well as myself.

So many of our clients end up knowing our subcontractors by name. They feel comfortable around them which creates the strength not only in the client's trust, but in our brand of working with good, hardworking and trustworthy people.

Our subcontractors have also been incredible mentors to me in the last few years. I can't even begin to explain how much I have learned from them. When a problem arises they fill me in on everything; from what the problem is, to what the options are to resolve it. And they are fabulous about really showing me the "guts" of the situation so that I can completely understand and learn from the problem solving experience.

A special thank you to Vince Dekan, Mike Fisher, Steve Class & Robie Buckstein - my favorite subcontractors. I heart you guys!

P.S. I have to admit, you all throw an awesome Subcontractor Bridal Shower. Thanks again!
